ABOUT SHANIQUE
Shanique Peart is a multidisciplinary artist based in Kingston, Ontario, with a background in dance, photography, and storytelling. Beginning as a self-taught dancer in Hip-Hop and Freestyle, she expanded her practice to include Dancehall, Afro Fusion, Modern, and Urban Contemporary styles. Her work explores the intersections of movement, identity, and environment, using vibrant compositions to foster connection and evoke emotion.
Rooted in collaboration and inspired by community, Shanique blends artistic disciplines to craft stories that reflect shared experiences and collective memory. Beyond performance, she is actively involved in creative projects across theatre, education, and arts administration.

What is the candid creative co?
The Candid Creative Co is a platform and business with the goal of highlighting all of my artistic mediums and give them a home. I wear many different hats within the thriving arts scene here in Kingston, ON. So, I thought it was time I became more Candid about my work, and my overall artistic journey. I hope to share more about my practice through my gallery, upcoming events and my social media.
Over the next couple of years, I hope to transform this platform into a production company. A place to create new works - not only for myself - but for other artists who may not have many resources, physical space, or training opportunities; similar to the beginning of my artistic journey.
I look forward to collaborating and meeting you all!
Candidly,
The Candid Creative
